Change for the better

January 10, 2008 · 15 Comments

As we approach an upcoming election (yes, think guys…there is an election coming up this year…like, a presidential one!) there are numerous topics in which the general population of this country feel very strongly about.  If it were up to you, what topic would be addressed first by a new president, and how would you like to see it changed?

well now the first issue i would adress is the war in the middle east, and helping the vetrens for doing our “dirty work”. i would like to see the government send an incomprehensable ammount of military in and wipe those b@#&^*ds off the earth…..! Then i want all soldiers past and present to be compensated for the sirvace to there country…

Thank you for your honest opinion Ben! I have a feeling that you have a very strong opinon about this topic because of personal experience with a family member. Good post! I hope others respond to you, also.

The war in Iraq should be the first issue addressed by the new president.Itwould be allot more cost effective to just bomb the f#$& out of them than it is keeping the troops over there for who knows how much longer. Although there are many issues in the country needing government assistance a large sum of money is going over seas to pay for the war. I think the country would benefit more if they pulled the troops out of Iraq.

I think that gun controll laws should be changed. I believe that it should be much harder to get a gun in this country. Before you are able to get a gun there should be a harder backround check done. I believe that this would limit school shootings and murders.

I would want the main focus of the upcoming election to be the issue of military action and spending. I would want the new president to take a strong stance against terrorism.

the war in iraq should be the first thing adressed by the new president. the new president should bring all of the troops home and just leave a few behind to train the people of iraq.

i also think like Bobby or B-fab said that the new president should deal with the iraq war first because all of the troops their are doing there best and they need to get back to their families. there are many other goverment issues but i think the war in iraq should be the main Priority.

In my personal opinion, i believe Health & Medicine should be priority number one in America. We have millions of people here in our own country living each day without health care that should be provided to all American citizens. In our neighboring country of Canada, health care is offered free to all Canadian citizens by its government, were as in our own fine country, our government is unable to fulfill the needs of it peoples medical issues. I believe if America were to establish a health care system like the one of our fellow Canada, it would resolve many of our issues and push forward to a better country and a better tomorrow for everyone.

I think the first thing our president should even THINK about doing is getting our soldiers out of iraq and back home. Then he could BEGIN to think about other issues but the most important thing is bringing the troops home.

Wow! Great job class! I am especially impressed with Nick’s post and his stance on health care. Maybe we can be like our “fellow Canadians” (Nick’s words…) someday. Then everyone would like hockey, too. That would be good.

The issue I would like to see flourish in the upcoming election would be Health & Medicine. Mainly because many Americans, dont live up to the “standard” living and may be left with a lump sum, a real way to recover, huh?(Sarcastically saying), also many votes go on heard because people cant leave the hospital, or are to ill to make. Along side of that issue,i think there is an importance with war in the middle east and terrorism. They should put forth the best interest of American peoples and get the troops home, many families are being tarnished because of lost family members.

I want focus of the upcoming election to be the issue of military action and spending. I would want the new president to take a strong stance against terrorism. Focus on the medicare plan and the internet plan.

well i would think that the biggest topic this year would be the war so i would choose to attack that subject. I would like to know weather the soldiers i irac are coming home or if they are going to stay there and risk their life for no reason? what else are we going to sacrafice for another country when we still have problems here not over there.

I would like the new president to adress the issue of the war in iraq. I think they should pull out the troops and bring them home. I am opposed to war of any kind. i prefer cookies.
