When I read this quote I immediately thought of the book “Stargirl.” I thought of this because she let herself be miserable to be happy. She changed for a guy to make her and him more happy. In the end it ended up not working for both of them. She should have just stayed the way she was and everyone could have have learned to accept her.

This quote reminds me of the book Blood and Chocolate. vivian (being a werewolf) is in love with a human named aiden. she is afriad to be with him becuase e is a human and her natural instinct is to hunt humans. it makes her miserable to not be with aiden and she wouldnt be happy with him because she is afraid of harming him. >this makes sense in my mind<

When I read this quote it reminded me of the book Phantoms. The characters in the book were not sure who or what was attacking them and although knowing would have made them happy it may also have led them to more fears. So in this case happiness came from being miserable and knowing they were miserable kept them alert.

Hey you three! Thank you for being the ONLY THREE in your class to do this assignment. Not only that, but you did a very nice job describing your interpretation and connection. And Sadie, it makes sense, don’t worry.

i think this quote refers to people that are self-concious. They would rather be ceratin about something than to be unsure even if it makes them happy. I think this quote to stargil because she was happy not knowing exzactly who she was.

This quote is saying that most people arent courages enough to be happy. This relates
to the godfather by Mario Puzo. In the godfather, Don Corleone takes over the crime families of New York. This makes him happy but he had to risk everything to get there

I’d say this quote relates yes, to Jerry Spinelli’s “Stargirl”. I thought of this because she let herself be miserable to be happy, by changing her act.She changed for a guy to make her and him more happy. In the end it ended up not working for both of them. She should have just stayed the way she was primarly because you are at your best when you dont notice.

My interpratation of this quote is people are creatures of habit and they often only take what they are given not what they deserve. Also they dont like change or to take risks. this quote reminds me of enders game in that ender who is the main character who goes to battle school. He dosent like it there so he tries to manipulate the environment. By environment i mean the way people around him treat and act.
P.S sorry it’s late.

There are people that sit back and complain but do not do any thing about it and they are miserable about it. It is easier to be mad then do any thing about it. Happiness comes from do thing for others. To be miserable is easier then to try to be happy.

this quote means that people are afraid of any kind of change so even if they arent happy at all they will not try to change things. this quote relates to the book stargirl because even though noone else was happy with who she was she was happy. you are the only person who should matter to you.

This qoute is saying that most people don’t take the chance to be happy and so they are miserable. Most of the time people are either to scared or to stuck up to make the jump to be happy but sometime there are some people that just don’t know how to be happy and so they don’t even know where to jump. So happyness is really depending on the person not what others can see.

I connected the quote to stargirl. She changed and made Leo happy to fit in with everyone else. this made her miserable because she couldn’t be herself. she prefered to be miserable than risk being happy.

Some people would accept the fact they are unhappy, than finding the solutions to the problem. In the novel Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli, a teenage girl sacrifices her uniqueness for a boy named Leo, basically she became ordinary. She was happy being different, till she met this boy who craved the liking of others so much, she sacrificed her happiness for his. In the end, they were not together. I think she was so miserable she had to leave.

I think this quote means that people want to be re-ensured rather then being unsure. I compare this quote to the movie ” The Untouchables” because when Kevin Costner is ensured he has brought justice, he is happy.
